The recognition highlights Andrew's remarkable career in the UK food sector, as well as his commitment to excellence, innovation and education.

His impact extends far beyond the University, influencing national standards in hospitality and sustainable food development.

In addition to this latest honour, Andrew was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in 2015 for services to hospitality and education - a testament to his dedication and lasting contributions to both industry and academia.

Andrew brings a rare combination of practical culinary expertise and academic insight to his role at the University, where he has worked since 2002.

Jamie Harrison, Head of Catering and Hospitality, said: “We are immensely proud that Andrew has received an accolade that showcases what he has achieved in his time at the University, and the hospitality industry as a whole.

"This is a reward for all of his hard work, as his leadership and culinary experience have successfully navigated our department through the global challenges we have faced in recent years.
