News

Posted on Wednesday 7 May 2025

The next Enhancing Research Culture Workshop is coming up on Tuesday 20 May, 11am-1.30pm in B/T/005, titled Citizen Science and Public Participation.

Public involvement in research from experimental conception to data processing can be hugely valuable to research, and can help direct impact to where it is most needed. However, the obstacles to getting the public involved in your research can be daunting. We have invited a diverse set of research and public engagement experts to provide successful examples and to answer your questions on how to get started and what support there is.

You can find out about our speakers on the speaker profile document.

If you would like to attend please sign up via this google form, this workshop is open to UoY staff and postgraduate research students. Hot drinks will be provided at the start of the session, please bring your own cup. A buffet lunch will be served for those attending in-person after the talks and Q&A.

If you are unable to attend in-person, we plan to live stream the session on the day and also have a recording to share after the session. Please indicate in the google form if your preference is to attend in-person or via live-stream. We will also send you a calendar invite.

You can view recordings of previous workshops, case studies and useful resources to share best practice on the Enhancing Research Culture Workshops google site, including the recording from February's workshop Enabling Cohesive Research Environments and March's workshop Breaking Barriers: Enhancing ECR engagement in Open Research.
