Revision and version control

Revision and version control is used to manage changes to documents, computer programs, websites, and other collections of information. Use it to revert files to previous versions.

We use the GitHub Enterprise platform for code version control.

Revisions to files can be compared, restored, and with some types of files, merged.
Track your collaborator's edits and correct mistakes.

Access instructions

Staff should contact their Department Computing Officer (DCO), who will contact IT Services on your behalf.
Student societies should contact IT Services directly.

They are responsible for monitoring, identifying and fixing faults. We provide advice and support for local issues during our opening hours.
