Mac desktop

Our Mac desktop provides a managed Apple macOS operating system and applications. It’s available for individual staff Macs, shared Macs and teaching classrooms.

Supports all current Apple Mac hardware and macOS releases.
macOS is user-friendly, with excellent accessibility, security and privacy built-in.
Apple Macs are available on the second floor of the Harry Fairhurst Building, the first floor of the Burton Library, and in LMB/008. For more details, see our computer labs and spaces.

Access instructions

Staff Macs are assigned to a single user. To set up your Mac for the first time, see enrolling your new Mac.
On Macs in computer labs and spaces, staff and students can log in with their University username and password.

Support

This service is managed by IT Services and relies on Apple, Jamf and Microsoft services.
We are responsible for monitoring, identifying and fixing faults within our control.
Support is available during our opening hours.

Our service performance and standards have been produced in consultation with our customers. We regularly monitor the delivery, performance and availability of facilities and services.
