Where to go for

Laundry

The college's launderette is located in the Anne Lister College Hub. You’ll need your keycard for access.

Maintenance

If you have a problem with your room that requires cleaning or fixing, let us know soon, so that we can get it fixed for you.

Reception

The Anne Lister Reception is staffed 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside these hours, students should visit the Ron Cooke Hub on Campus East.

Mail

Small post/letters There are a bank of post boxes in the Anne Lister Hub which Royal Mail will deliver to directly.

Large parcels are held in the Piazza Building mailroom. You'll receive an email when you have a parcel to collect. Please take your university card as proof of your identity.

Communal areas

The Hub is the central social space for Anne Lister College students. With a range of comfortable furniture, a pool table, table tennis table and games, students can use the communal areas to relax, meet friends and hang out.

Getting around

Buses

It's a pleasant 15 minute walk to Campus West, but a regular bus route operates from Kimberlow Hill car park nearby, including a free shuttle to Campus West and paid service into York.

Cycle parking

Cycle parking is available throughout Anne Lister, including secure stores that require keycard access and uncovered hoops for communal use.

Local Amenities

Anne Lister is ideally placed with catering outlets at the Ron Cooke Hub and the Piazza hearby. It is only a few minutes walk to the Glasshouse Bar at Langwith College and a 10 minute walk to the shops and bars in Heslington Village.

NISA supermarket and Unity Health GP Surgery, located on Kimberlow Hill, are just a 10 minute walk from the College. The York Sport Centre is also locally situated on Campus East.
