Anne Lister College

Welcome to Anne Lister College!

We’re the first of the University of York’s colleges to be named after a woman, as well as someone who was part of the LGBTQ+ community.

We hope our students follow in Anne Lister’s footsteps - by being broad in their knowledge and prolific in the pursuit of it, while being unashamedly themselves.

Home to a vibrantly active community, Anne Lister College is so much more than just a place to live. The hub is an amazing study space and also a great place to meet up with friends, old and new. Whether it’s going to the weekly college quiz, seeing friends at one of free food events or chatting with the people I meet walking through the hub, Anne Lister is absolutely central to my life at university.
