Evaluation of Children Challenging Industry (CCI) 2022-23

We are excited to announce the release of the Evaluation of Children Challenging Industry (CCI) 2022-23 (PDF , 2,505kb), which provides an insightful summary of the programme’s evaluation. Based on data from schools across England, the report showcases how CCI continues to inspire both children and teachers, increasing awareness of STEM careers, sparking children’s excitement for hands-on science activities, and enhancing teachers’ confidence in teaching science.

Primary Science Special Edition: Growing Science Capital

Published by the Association for Science Education, this special issue of 'Primary Science' celebrates the 25^th anniversary of CIEC’s Children Challenging Industry programme, and highlights the importance of working across the boundaries between education and industry, offering a wide range of articles that demonstrate how CIEC does this, and the benefits of this for teachers and pupils.

Gender and STEM careers

Joy Parvin's article, published in November 2020 in ASE's Primary Science journal, focuses on the careers of four women working in STEM careers today, and offers guidance for teachers on increasing the science capital of primary children.
